Merlot red in Maheshwari weave

$106.99

Merlot red pours a deep, wine-dark warmth across this Maheshwari saree, the kind of shade that reads rich by lamplight. Woven in silk cotton, it stays light and breathable while zari work adds a glimmer of gold along the drape. A refined choice for evening events, celebrations, or thoughtful gifting.

Weaves originating from the Maheshwar town on the banks of the river Narmada in Madhya Pradesh are well known for their intricacy and sophistication. The weavers following the Maheshwar weave adhere to the age old tradition of replicating the designs inscribed on the walls of the fort and temples onto the sarees even today. Cotton, silk and zari (golden threads) form the main components of these sarees and give them their unique character.
