Blue Chill in Madurai Sungudi
Blue Chill in Madurai Sungudi
Pure Sungudi cotton
Inspired by the Saurashtrians’ gift for craftsmanship, the Madurai Sungudi saree was originally created as a gift for the local royalty. The name Sungudi represents the round motifs predominantly found on these expertly hand woven sarees. A special characteristic of the Sungudi saree is that the knots created along the lines of the fabric cloth with red pigment prevent colours from intruding into the knotted part of the fabric when it is subject to the dyeing process in the vat.
The cotton material is breathable and makes these sarees extremely desirable in both a traditional and modern setting.
Pallu has slight stains which are barely visible, hence the reduced priced.
*There may be a slight variation in colour due to utilisation of digital photography
